Report: Miami Hoping To Host 2015 All-Star Game At Marlins Park

The Miami Marlins have a new name, a new uniform and a new ballpark -- and they're hoping that in three years, they'll be able to show off their new look as hosts of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game.

"We're still planning for 2015," Marlins president David Samson told MLB.com. "We're going to work with the commissioner and apply. We're fully prepared and excited to host it."

Marlins Park is set to host its first major league game on April 4, when the Marlins take on the St. Louis Cardinals at home. The new facility features 37,000 seats and a retractable roof. MLB indicated while Miami was building the new ballpark that it would strongly consider giving the market an All-Star Game.
