Philadelphia Phillies righthander Roy Halladay threw his second bullpen session on Tuesday before the team's game against the New York Mets. After a 33-pitch session last Friday, Halladay followed up with a 56-pitch outing at Citi Field, according to Todd Zolecki and Christina De Nicola of

The site says that Halladay may throw a few more bullpen sessions and/or simulated games -- skipping a rehab stint altogether -- before rejoining the Phillies. He has been out since late May with a strained right latissimus dorsi.

Halladay, who is 4-5 with a 3.98 ERA in 11 starts, could return as early as the July 16-18 series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine.
