With the signing of Jason Kidd, the New York Knicks got a veteran leader - ideally one that would help the team overcome any off-the-court problems. Instead, Kidd has created an off-the-court problem himself. The 20-year veteran was arrested early this morning on suspicion of drunk driving near his home in Long Island, according to a report from the New York Daily News.

Kidd was arrested after crashing his Cadillac Escalade into a telephone pole at 1:56 a.m. He was the only person in the car, and no other vehicles were involved. Only two days ago, Kidd signed a three-year, $9.5 million contract with the Knicks.
