The Detroit Tigers have traded for infielder Omar Infante and starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez of the Miami Marlins, reports's Jon Paul Morosi on Twitter.

Infante, a second baseman who can also play other positions, is hitting .287 this season. He was an All-Star with the Atlanta Braves in 2008.

Sanchez is 5-7 with a 3.94 ERA this year. His best season came as a rookie in 2006 when he went 10-3 with a 2.83 ERA.

The Tigers are reportedly giving up Jacob Turner, a top pitching prospect, in the deal. Detroit is 1.5 games ahead of the Chicago White Sox in the AL Central and looking for help for the playoff push.
