After Ryan Dempster appeared to be on the move (then not) yesterday, new details have emerged about why the Cubs' proposed trade with the Atlanta Braves for their 35-year-old starter haven't worked out. At least not yet.

According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Dempster has the right to refuse any trade to Atlanta, as he would rather move to the Los Angeles Dodgers so he can be closer to his family in Vancouver. However, the Braves have more valuable assets to offer the Cubs in exchange for Dempster, and Atlanta remains his #2 preferred destination.

A deal might still be in the future, but Dempster is going to take his time to decide, according to ESPNChicago's Doug Padilla.
