The Tampa Bay Rays are in the thick of the American League Pennant race and they need everything they can to make up ground on the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees.

Left-hander David Price will miss his next scheduled start on Saturday against the AL West leading Texas Rangers due to "general shoulder soreness", reports the Tampa Bay Times. Chris Archer will take his place in the rotation.

"That's the first shoulder soreness I've ever really had in my life so we were going to be very cautious," Price said.

The Rays begin the day 75-62 and two games back in the American League East and 1.5 games back in the Wild Card race.
