Update: Tigers, Anibal Sanchez reportedly agree to 5-year, $80M deal

UPDATE: Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com is reporting that the Tigers and Anibal Sanchez have agreed on a a five-year, $80-million contract.

The Cubs are no longer bidding on free-agent right-hander Anibal Sanchez, according to a report by Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Sanchez may re-sign with the Tigers, for an estimated $75 million over five years, but Heyman left open the chance that a third team is talking to the pitcher.

On Thursday, Sanchez reportedly had agreed to become a Cub, but later reports had him taking the Cubs' deal back to the Tigers to match or increase.

Sanchez, 28, had a 3.86 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 195 1/2 inning for the Marlins and Tigers last season.
