Kyle Lohse agrees to deal with Brewers

Monday March 25th, 2013

Veteran RHP Kyle Lohse has agreed on a deal to join the Milwaukee Brewers, CBS Sports reporter Jon Heyman reports. The deal is contingent on Lohse passing a physical.

The 34-year-old right-handed pitcher posted a 2.86 ERA with the St. Louis Cardinals last season over 211 innings. Lohse finished seventh in the NL Cy Young voting last year. Over 12 seasons, Lohse is 118-109 with a 4.45 ERA with the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies and, most recently, the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Milwaukee Brewers will surrender their 17th overall selection in the 2013 MLB draft because Lohse was a type-A free-agent. Lohse is traveling to Brewers camp to take his physical on Monday.
