The New Yorker cover pokes fun at the Yankees

Derek Jeter is pushing a walker. Ichiro has a cane. Alex Rodriguez is in a wheelchair.

Not quite the truth, but the Yankees enter the 2013 season with plenty of age and injury issues. Now, The New Yorker has joined in poking fun at the Bronx Bombers.

The New Yorker is known for its cartoons and covers, and this one, entitled "Hitting Forty," is by Mark Ulriksen. In an interview for the publication's website, Ulriksen said, in part:

"I’m not a Yankees fan per se, but I’m a New Yorker at heart, and I can say the Yankees are sure old and beat up. In this lineup I put together, I added the ages of all the players and found the average was forty. And forty in baseball is old,” he says, with a laugh.
