Vanderbilt offers seventh-grader football scholarship

Vanderbilt is coming off a 9-4 record last season, a bowl victory and they are stocking recruits....no matter what grade they are in.

Maxpreps.com reports that the Commodores sent out an unofficial scholarship offer last week to 5-foot-6, 125 pound seventh-grader Jahlen Jack from Bellevue, Wash, according to the team's Twitter account. Jack plays running back and linebacker according to his highlight video, which can be seen below.

If it is any consolation, his brother is Myles Jack, who is a Class of 2013 recruit and will be attending UCLA.

More from MaxPreps:

Jack is the youngest non-quarterback to receive a scholarship offer. David Sills, a rising junior, was offered and committed to USC as a seventh grader in 2010. Earlier this spring, MaxPreps reported that seventh-grade athlete Tyreke Johnson migh be offered before this summer. Jack, who also runs track, beat him to the punch.
