Lakers' Pau Gasol to undergo procedure in both knees

Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol will undergo a FAST Technique on Thursday to assuage tendonitis the Spaniard has in both knees, the Lakers said on Wednesday. According to the team, the FAST Technique "uses a probe inserted into the knee which directs ultrasonic energy to eliminate scar tissue without damaging healthy tissue." The procedure is set to be done in Los Angeles by Dr. Steven Yoon and a timetable for Gasol's return will be determined following the procedure.
The FAST Technique is considered to be a noninvasive procedure that lasts roughly 15 minutes and a normal recovery time is approximately six weeks.
