Report: Rangers have not offered Shin-Soo Choo seven-year contract

The Texas Rangers have not made an offer to free agent center fielder Shin-Soo Choo, but still have interest in signing him, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson.

MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reported earlier that the team offered Choo a deal for seven years, but less than the $153 million the New York Yankees gave Jacoby Ellsbury.

Choo already rejected a six-year offer from the Rangers, according to Sullivan.

Choo, 31, hit .285 with 21 home runs, 54 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 154 games with the Cincinnati Reds last season. He was fourth in the majors in on-base percentage (.423) in 2013 and ranked second in the National League in both runs scored and walks.
