Steve Smith is unlikely to play in the Panthers' game on Sunday after spraining his PCL, according to ProFootballTalk's Darin Gantt.

Smith left Carolina's game against the New Orleans Saints in the first quarter with a knee injury. He attempted to return later but was unable to run because of the injury.

Despite his top receiver being unable to take the field in a game with playoff implications, Panthers coach Ron Rivera still viewed the report as "very good news" because it is likely the Smith will be able to play for the team in the playoffs.
