Texas has inquired about Louisville head coach Charlie Strong for their vacant head coaching position, according to Yahoo! Sports' Pat Forde.

Texas is seeking to replace Mack Brown, who ended his 16-year tenure with the school with a 30-7 loss to Oregon in the Alamo Bowl.

Louisville signed Strong to an eight-year contract extension in January that saw his annual salary rise to $3.7 million.  Strong has a 37-16 record in five seasons at Louisville, leading the team to two bowl wins, including a Sugar Bowl win last season.
