The Phoenix Suns are exploring a trade for Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

The Suns have been looking to add a veteran star to help their young roster with the team's surprising playoff run this season, and the Lakers have previously spoken with teams about trading Gasol.

Stein reports the trade would likely include injured Phoenix center Emeka Okafor, whose $14.5 million contract expires at the end of the season.

The Lakers recently announced Gasol would be out for at least one week with a strained groin.
