Lakers forward Pau Gasol will not play Wednesday night against the Kings due to a bout with vertigo, according to the team.

Feelings of queasiness reportedly have left Gasol incapacitated in the team's Sacramento hotel. Gasol is expected to fly back to Los Angeles when his condition allows.

Gasol struggled with feelings of dizziness and vomiting last week and left the Lakers' win over Orlando on a stretcher before being taken to a hospital.

From the Los Angeles Daily News:

“It was a nightmare. I was feeling terrible,” Gasol said. “Everyone that saw me felt bad. I was extremely pale and shivering and couldn’t move.”

Gasol returned to action Tuesday wearing a patch behind his left ear in a loss to the Trailblazers, but continued to experience symptoms of vertigo and questioned if he was ready for action.

From the Los Angeles Times:

"I wasn't confident out there, I wasn't assertive," said Gasol, who finished with nine points on four-for-nine shooting. "I didn't feel confident enough to make aggressive moves or turns, because when I turned my head a couple of times, everything was still shaking. It's a little bit of a process, unfortunately."

Gasol said perhaps he shouldn't have even played.

"Maybe it was a little too early because I really didn't get any contact during practice and didn't really go up and down," Gasol said. "All we did was 5-on-0 and shooting, which is not really like a game. But I'm glad I got through it."
