In the midst of what has certainly felt like the least prolific club season abroad for top-tier Americans, a number of players vying for places on Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup roster stepped forth with goal-scoring performances over the weekend.

Aron Johannsson, Terrence Boyd, Sacha Kljestan and Danny Williams all found the back of the net for their respective clubs, and while one performance or goal does not a World Cup roster berth make, it certainly helps bring names back to the forefront, especially with the USA's March 5 friendly against Ukraine lingering as a last-chance saloon for European-based World Cup hopefuls.

Johannsson's goal for AZ Alkmaar, which came against Juan Agudelo's FC Utrecht, was his 22nd goal in all competitions; Boyd's, which came in the waning moments of a 2-1 loss, was his 13th in all competitions; Kljestan, who had an assist in Anderlecht's 2-0 win as well, added to his single-season career high with his ninth in all competitions; Williams' tally, meanwhile, was his second in three games and helped Reading keep its spot in the promotion playoff places in England's League championship.
