The Mavericks are finally naming a burger after Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki collaborated with the Mavs’ chef to build a custom cheeseburger.

After 17 years with the Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki is finally getting his own cheeseburger.

Dirk has teamed up with the Dallas arena’s executive chef, Mark Mabry, to create the Dirkburger, a 1/3-pound burger on Bavarian pretzel bun with jalapeno beer cheese, bacon onion marmalade, arugula and a mustard horseradish aioli. Considering it comes with French fries, it’s not a bad deal at $12.

Somehow, Dirk isn’t the first Mavs player to get a burger named after him.

This outfield lazy river puts the D-Backs’ pool to shame

“January we had the Just-In-Time burger with [teammate] Justin Anderson,” a team spokeswoman told the Dallas Morning News. “When Dirk saw the success of the burger, and how much fun Justin had, he wanted to get in on the action.”

Unfortunately, the burger won’t be around forever. It’s only available for the eight games the Mavs play at home in March.
