Interest in free agent pitcher Jon Lester is "booming," reports Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal

According to Rosenthal, at least six teams are now interested in the pitcher, including the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves, who have all met with him. Boston reportedly made a contract offer to Lester when he met with them last week.

Lester, 30, turned down a four-year, $70 million offer made by the Red Sox in March and was traded to the Oakland Athletics on July 31 for outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. He could command as much as $150 million with his next contract; he made $13 million last season.

The St. Louis Cardinals also reportedly recently joined the pursuit of Lester, who is ranked as the offseason's No. 2 free agent by SI.com's Ben Reiter.

Lester went 16-11 with a 2.46 ERA and 220 strikeouts in 219.2 innings in 2014. He is a three-time All-Star and pitched a no-hitter in 2008.
