Joc Pederson Posts Cryptic Photo With Phillies Mascot To Stir Free Agency Speculation

Joc Pederson is not one of the biggest free agents on the market, but the veteran outfielder has been a consistent producer since his career began with the Dodgers.

While fans aren’t clamoring to see who signs him, Pederson did cause some chaos on Wednesday with a cryptic Instagram post hinting at a possible destination.

Pederson posted a photo on Instagram of him with the Phillie Phanatic before a game at Citizens Bank Park. The caption for the photo was “It’s always sunny in Philadelphia,” sparking speculation that he might be signing with the Phillies.

However, it all seems to be a ruse. Multiple Phillies beat writers have reported that Philadelphia is not signing Pederson on Wednesday. In fact, MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki said that the two sides “haven’t even talked” during the offseason.

Therefore, it seems as though Pederson just posted a picture with the Phillie Phanatic just because he wanted to do so.

Pederson has played for four teams in his 10-year career, including three in the last three seasons. The left-handed outfielder spent the past two years in San Francisco, totaling 38 home runs in 255 games played.
