San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili will miss this summer's FIBA Basketball World Cup in Madrid, Spain after being diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right leg, according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

While Ginobili should be recovered in time for training camp in September, the Argentine national team will surely miss him.  In 2011, he led the team to the FIBA Americas Championship, in addition to winning a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

Ginobili averaged 12.3 points and 4.3 assists this past season for the Spurs, helping the franchise win their fifth NBA championship.

More from Yahoo! Sports:

Ginobili, 36, was diagnosed with the early stages of a stress fracture in his exit physical with the Spurs. It's an injury that appears to have developed late in San Antonio's championship season, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Ginobili is seeking a second medical opinion before proceeding, sources said.
