Rockets’ James Harden bruises knee in preseason game

Houston Rockets guard James Harden left in the second quarter of Sunday's preseason game with a knee bruise and did not return.

Harden injured his knee while trying to defend Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier on a fast break. According to the Associated Press, Harden could be seen walking gingerly off the court. 

Harden scored 12 points before exiting in a 123–119 loss. After the game, head coach Kevin McHale said that he did not have any further details about the extent of the injury. 

Harden finished second in the NBA MVP voting last season, averaging 27.4 points and seven assists per game.
