Report: Redskins to release Cundiff

The Washington Redskins are expected to release kicker Billy Cundiff after the team signed Kai Forbath.

Cundiff, who was cut by the Baltimore Ravens this spring, struggled for the Redskins this season. The former Pro Bowler hasn't been the same since missing a potential game-tying short field goal in the AFC championship game last season. The New England Patriots eventually won that game and advanced to the Super Bowl.

Kai Forbath played at UCLA. He went undrafted last year, but signed with the Dallas Cowboys and spent the season on their reserve non-football injury list.
