Ravens' Steve Smith catches tipped pass for first TD against Panthers

Ravens receiver Steve Smith gave Baltimore an early lead over the Panthers with a touchdown on a tipped pass. 

Joe Flacco's pass went off the fingertips of tight end Owen Daniels and into Smith's hands to put the Ravens up 7-0.

After the catch, Smith put a finger to his mouth, as if to further quiet his critics.

Smith is playing in his first game against the Panthers since being released by Carolina in March. Smith spent the first 13 years of his career with the Panthers.
