Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. was the most mentioned NFL player on Twitter during Week 4, Twitter data shows

The week spans from Thursday, Sept. 25 through Monday, Sept. 29.

Smith went up against his former team, the Carolina Panthers, in Week 4, catching seven passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. His performance included a 61-yard touchdown catch to open the game's scoring in the second quarter.

Baltimore won the game 38-10, and afterwards Smith said he ran around the Panthers "like they were schoolyard kids." 

The next most mentioned players on Twitter were New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins and Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, respectively. 

Brady and New England lost to the Chiefs Monday night, while Manning and the Giants defeated Cousins and Washington on Thursday night. Charles played for the first time since sustaining a high ankle sprain in Week 2 and had three total touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys were the most mentioned team account for Week 4, and the New Orleans Saints vs. Cowboys game Sunday night garnered the most tweets. Dallas won 38-17. 

Ray Rice was the most mentioned NFL player on Twitter in Week 3.
