The Atlanta Falcons are signing linebacker Brooks Reed to a contract worth $22 million over five years, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Reed has spent the past four seasons with the Houston Texans after the team selected him in the second round of the 2011 draft out of Arizona.

The 28-year-old recorded 41 tackles and three sacks and one interceptions over 16 games—including 13 starts—last season.

Reed was also linked to the New York Jets and Chicago Bears, among other teams.

The Falcons went 6-10 and finished third in the NFC South last season.
