The Indianapolis Colts have signed wide receiver Andre Johnson, the team announced on Wednesday.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that the deal is for three years and worth $21 million.

Johnson was released by the Houston Texans on Monday after requesting that he either be cut or traded. The 33-year-old had two years remaining on his contract and a salary cap number of $16.1 million for 2015.

Johnson had spent his entire 12-year NFL career with Houston. His 1,012 career receptions and 13,597 receiving yards are second among active receivers, behind only former Colts receiver Reggie Wayne.

Last season, Johnson caught 85 passes for 936 yards and three touchdowns. The receiver reportedly asked to part ways with the Texans after being told that his role in 2015 would be reduced.
