Cowboys’ OC Gives Over-the-Top Praise for Dak Prescott, Compares QB to Drew Brees
Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer tried his best to give a straightforward answer when asked about quarterback Dak Prescott's play in the team's two recent wins following a tough loss to the 49ers. But the praise that followed quickly took on a life of its own, showing just how much appreciation Schottenheimer has for the 30-year-old signal-caller.
Schottenheimer raved about how Prescott is a “stud” while citing the fact that the quarterback “never changes who he is.” He proceeded to detail how he’s no different after the tough showing in a loss to the 49ers than he is following any other game, and then things really heated up from there.
“There’s an inner calm about the guy that it’s really cool to sit next to him on game day. … He’s just awesome to be around. He makes me a better person every day. Guys like that are guys you really, really want to see have success,” Schottenheimer said of Prescott, as The Athletic's Jon Machota shared. “He reminds me a lot of Drew Brees. They’re wired very similarly. It’s not ever about them, it’s about the team and what can they do that’s best for the team.”

The Drew Brees comparison given to Prescott is noteworthy, as Schottenheimer was the 13-time Pro Bowler's quarterbacks coach from 2002 to '05 with the Chargers.
As for Prescott, his impressive turnaround following arguably one of the worst games of his NFL career has been impressive. The Cowboys quarterback completed just 14-of-24 passes for 153 yards, one touchdown pass and three interceptions in the 42–10 loss to San Francisco.
In the two games following that loss, Prescott has completed 75.3% of his passes, throwing for 576 yards, five passing touchdowns, one rushing score and just one interception. Over that two-game span, the Cowboys outscored the Chargers and Rams 63–37.
