Bruins’ Milan Lucic Takes Leaves of Absence After Domestic Incident, Arrest

Bruins forward Milan Lucic will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team, the team announced on Saturday. Lucic was arrested Saturday morning in Boston after a domestic incident, according to WCVB-TV.

“The Boston Bruins are aware of an incident involving Milan Lucic Friday evening. Milan is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team,” the Bruins said in a statement, via Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald. “The organization takes these matters very seriously, and will work with the Lucic family to provide any support and assistance they may need. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Lucic is in his second stint with the Bruins, having returned to Boston on a one-year deal in the offseason. The 35-year-old winger spent the first eight years of his career with the Bruins, then played for the Kings, Oilers and Flames over the past eight years.

This season, Lucic only has played in four games while dealing with an ankle injury, and coach Jim Montgomery said this week that his recovery has been “behind where we expected.”
