Halftime Notes: Cincinnati Leads Ashland 34-21 at the Halftime Buzzer

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats lead Ashland University 34-21 at the half in a game that took a little while to get going.
Jeremiah Davenport led the way with nine points and Aaron Thompson paced Ashland with eight points.
Here are some halftime observations from a rapidly-scheduled game against the Eagles.
Slow Start On Saturday Afternoon
Wes Miller's crew has had trouble getting the offense going at the start of games and that continued against Ashland. Cincinnati opened the contest 3-for-11 from the field.
In fariness, the team had less than 24 hours to prepare for Ashland's defense and found the scoring groove a bit more after the opening ten minutes.
Active Hands
Cincinnati struggled stopping Ashland when they were able to get the ball inside but the Eagles had to work for it. They committed seven turnovers in the first half and coughed up three steals to the Bearcats.
Saunders, Dejulius Takes Control
Bearcats guard David Dejulius saw the game flipping back and forth and brought out his own spatula for a solo show. Dejulius finished the half with eight points after utilizing a nasty stepback jumpshot on the Eagles.
Saunders decided to do his damage at the cup. The speedy guard utilized his famous quickness to zoom past Ashland on multiple easy layups. He finished with eight points as well.
