Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup - July 10th

In this story:
So big recruiting dates are on the horizon for Notre Dame. They are eyeing several important 2024 recruits to make a decision, as well as finalizing the visitor list for the recruiting barbecue on July 30th.
Let’s recap the past week, which turned out to once again be extremely busy. From commitment dates, visits finalized and some general recruiting updates, there’s a lot to be excited about for the future of Notre Dame football.
LATEST RECRUITING NEWS
The most important uncommitted defender on the board is 2024 California linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. The star linebacker has set a commitment date for later this month. He will be picking between Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC. It seems that two schools, including Notre Dame, have separated themselves for Viliamu-Asa.
The other big news from this past week is that several key 2025 targets have finalized visits to South Bend for the recruiting barbecue at the end of the month. For the full list of visitors, make sure to follow closely on the premium message board.
One of the big names that is set to visit for the barbecue is Waukesha (Wisc.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig. This will be Strebig’s third trip to campus this off-season. Notre Dame is quickly asserting themselves as the team to beat for the 6-8, 290-pound offensive lineman.
The Irish staff will also be hosting Geneva (Ill.) Community pass catcher Talyn Taylor for a return visit to campus. Taylor is considered one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class and has already become a priority for the program.
Another return visitor is Tampa Bay (Fla.) Jesuit running back Justin Thurman. Notre Dame has quickly become the leader for the Florida speedster. Thurman is a tremendous fit into the Notre Dame standard, bringing an incredible blend of speed, big play ability and groundedness as a person.
It should be no surprise that Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy wide receiver Jerome Bettis Jr. is set to be on campus. The Bettis last name carries a lot of weight around South Bend. The Irish staff has done a tremendous job to make Bettis Jr. know that they want him for his abilities, and not just because of what his father accomplished in the 1990s.
RECRUITING UPDATES
A name that is known very well by Notre Dame fans, but not talked about enough is 2024 wide receiver commit Cam Williams. The Illinois star recapped his off-season so far, which included some impressive performances during track and field season.
Strebig isn’t the only 2025 offensive lineman that is high on Notre Dame early on. The same came said about New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona Prep offensive tackle Rowan Byrne, who listed the Irish program as a top three school for him right now. Byrne went in depth on a timeline and criteria that he is looking for in an ideal fit.
Notre Dame is working hard to get 2025 Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley pass rusher Bryce Davis on campus this summer. The North Carolina native is extremely high on Notre Dame thus far, which is very positive news for a program who has made an impact in the state of North Carolina recently.
Another 2025 defensive end to watch is Shawnee (Kan.) Mill Valley defender Jayden Woods. The Kansas star is one of the more talented pass rushers in the country. Notre Dame has been putting tremendous effort into this recruitment so far.
Notre Dame has already made an impact in the state of Florida in 2025, getting a commitment from talented defensive tackle Davion Dixon. The staff is targeting another talented defensive lineman from the state in Newberry (Fla.) High School standout Jarquez Carter. He is one of the more gifted interior rushers in the class and has Notre Dame high on his list right now.
Even while star California cornerback Jett White was still committed to USC, Notre Dame was recruiting him at a high level. Now they are working very hard to get White on campus, which they are hoping happens this summer.
Another legacy recruit on the 2025 Notre Dame board is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. The younger brother of former Irish staff defender Jeremiah Owusu-Koroah, Owusu-Boateng is one of the more gifted defenders in the class. He was formerly of Mater Dei in Maryland but transferred to IMG Academy this off-season. Notre Dame is set to battle some of the top programs in Florida for him.
While he hasn’t been to campus yet, Notre Dame is still making an impact with Norfolk (Va.) Maury safety Kendall Daniels. He is very intrigued by what Notre Dame has to offer.
