Currently ranked No. 14 on 247 Sports' board for the recruiting class of 2027 with three four-stars and two three-stars, Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning and crew work to solidify several potential Ducks to visit the team over the summer, including three-star wide receiver Jackson Coleman, who announced he'd make his way to Eugene, Oregon for an official visit from Jun. 5-7.

What to Know About Jackson Coleman

Coleman, a native of Littleton, Colorado (funny enough, the same hometown for Los Angeles Rams tight end and former Oregon Duck, Terrance Ferguson) enters his senior season with Valor Christian High School after a junior year averaging 16.4 yards per catch with five touchdowns.

He's got a taller build at 6-3, 195 pounds with the opportunity to put on muscle when he gets to the next level. Coleman, like several Oregon wide receivers of the past, also is a double sport athlete with track. His event specialty is the 100-meter dash, clocking in a personal best last spring with a 10.75 time.

Coleman also visited the All-22 Camp (an open development camp with limited spots that's application based) in Austin, Texas in March of 2025 prior to his junior season. During his appearance at the camp, Coleman put up a 4.67 second 40-yard dash, a vertical jump of 37', and a shuttle run of 4.55 seconds.

Dan Lanning Recruiting Jackson Coleman

Lanning is known as one of the better recruiting head coaches that there is, and he appears involved in the recruitment of Coleman. The Colorado wide receiver posted that he was offered by the Ducks after Lanning visited him.

Coleman also mentioned on his social media that he's had "several great conversations" with Oregon offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, who's entering his first year as one of the Ducks' internal promotions following the 2025-2026 season.

Coleman currently has offers from Big Ten teams like Northwestern, Minnesota, and Purdue while also garnering offers from Colorado, Oregon State, California, Vanderbilt, and Stanford. Coleman has only made one official visit so far which was in Feb. to Northwestern. Oregon is Coleman's second official visit announcement.

Oregon's Class of 2027

Though it's very early to make a reaction to Oregon's pickups for the class of 2027, several official visits have been announced, including a similar Monday update from linebacker Jalaythan Mayfield, who intends to visit Eugene in March. Other high-profile targets like four-star defensive backs Donte Wright and Brandon Lockley currently have plans to visit Oregon in June.

As it stands, Oregon has yet to secure a stuck commitment from a class of 2027 wide reciever, with current class highlights coming from Alabama edge commit Cameron Pritchett and Utah linebacker Sam Ngata, who is the son of former Oregon Duck football legend, Haloti Ngata.
