Derek is a Senior Sports Broadcasting Major, Journalism Minor at Texas Christian University (December Graduation). He is originally from Danville, California in the Bay Area, and is an avid sports diehard.

James Cash led the Frogs to a Southwest Conference Championship in 1968. He was the first Black student athlete at TCU. Cash was honored with a statue of himself, outside of Schollmaier Arena. Cash was also the first Black Professor at Harvard University
