Tennessee vs Alabama State is set to begin at 6:00 PM EST on Tuesday night

The Tennessee Volunteers are back in action as they take on the Alabama State Hornets on Tuesday. The Vols are coming off a series loss to the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday. Since that loss, the Volunteers have dropped four spots in the rankings.

Below are the LIVE Updates for the college baseball matchup on Tuesday night with the Vols having hopes of getting everything together ahead of their weekend series vs the Ole Miss Rebels.

LIVE UPDATES - Tennessee vs Alabama State

First Inning: 0-0
Top: I. Landry strikes out looking for out No. 1. Juan Cru flies out for the second out of the game. Russell picks up a huge third out to end the inning as he forces Douglas to swing and miss.

Bottom: Dean Curley doesn't get the start he was looking for as he grounded out to open the first inning for the Vols. Blake Grimmer gets another opportunity this week, and he walks in his first at bat to give the Vols and the game as a whole the first base runner. Ensley walks to give the Vols their second base runner as two are on with one out for power-hitting Andrew Fischer. Fischer lines out into a double play to end the inning.

Second Inning: 0-0
Top: Smiley is up to bat. Smiley is out. Pryor grounds out for the second out. The Hornets get a single, but Russell ends the inning shortly after with a flyout.

Bottom: Bargo walks to get the Vosl on base early in the inning with no outs after ending the first inning in an unfortunate way. Reese Chapman is up to bat. Chapman reaches on a fielder's choice. Bargo is out at second. Newstrom is now up to bat. Newstrom grounds out. The inning ends.

Third Inning: 0-0
Top: Thacker is in for Russell after another great outing. McIntosh flies out. Agosto grounds out for the second out. Landry walks. Thacker's day is done as the Vols will turn to Austin Breedlove. Breedlove forces Cruz to fly out.

Bottom: Stone Lawless is set to bat. Trey Power is in to pitch. Lawless is now up to the plate. Lawless walked, but Curley grounded into a double play for two outs. Grimmer and Ensley followed with a single. Two on and two out for Fischer. Fischer sees three early balls in the count. Fischer walks and the bases are loaded for Bargo. He grounds out.

Fourth Inning: 8-0 Tennessee hits three home runs
Top: Douglas singles. Smiley strikes out, and then Pryor grounds into a double play as the Vols get three quick outs.

Bottom: Tennessee is on a roll after Chapman and Newstrom both hit home runs to give the Vols a run. Abernathy walks and the Hornets are forced to turn to Loeffler. The Hornets are in a world of hurt as Lawless steps into the box. Abernathy steals second. Lawless strikes out. Curley goes yard for a two-run home run. Grimmer is up to bat. Grimmer singles. Ensley returns to the plate again. Ensley walks. Manny Marin is in to replace Ensley on the base. Fischer is up to the plate. Larson is in to pitch. The Vols worked their way around the bases as they scored on a wild pitch. Bargo advanced on a walk. Sanders is in to pitch. Levi Clark is hitting for Chapman. Clark hits a Sac-Fly to score Marin. Newstrom hits a bases-clearing double, and the Vols are up to 8 runs. Abernathy is up to bat. Abernathy strikes out.

Fifth Inning: 8-0
Top: The Vols mass sub in the fifth inning. Behnke is in to pitch. Espaillat strikes out. Paramentier fouls out. McIntosh grounds out.

Bottom: The Hornets force three straight outs with no hits or walks to end the inning.

Sixth Inning: 8-0
Top: Agosto was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Sharman is in to pitch this inning. After a short outing, Hunley came in to pitch. He finished the inning with no damage done to the score. The Vols do a great job again.

Bottom: Bartkowski is in to pitch. Marin is hit by a pitch. Hunter High walks in his first at-bat. Colby Backus is up to bat. He grounds into a double play. Clark lines out.

Seventh Inning: 8-1 Espinal hits a home run
Top: Ryan Combs is in to pitch. Espinal hits a home run. The home run comes after a quick strikeout. The Vols pitcher quickly rights his wrong with another strikeout. Parmentier is out to end the half inning.

Bottom: Christian is in to pitch. Newstrom is out to start the inning. Abernathy walks. Lawless walks. Antigua is up to the plate. Both batters steal a base. Antigua pops out after Abernathy was out attempting to steal.

Eighth Inning: 10-1 Grimmer scores on a wild pitch
Top: Crabtree comes in to pitch. He had a great showing. He strikes two out after getting a quick ground out to advance the game to the bottom of the 8th.

Bottom: Almazan is on to pitch. Grimmer is in to hit. He walks. Marin is up. Marin fouls out. High walks. Backus flies out. Clark is hit by a pitch. The bases are loaded. Grimmer scores on a wild pitch. Newstrom singles to short to give the Vols another run to go up by nine. Abernathy grounds out.

Ninth Inning: 10-2 Smiley scores off a double
Top: Abraham is in to pitch.
The Vols have one out. They are two away. Douglas singles. Double play territory. Smiley reaches, but Douglas is out at second. One out away for the Vols. A double to center score Smiley. The Vols force a ground out to end the game.

Bottom: nothing was played
