Inside the House of Champion Powered by Sports Illustrated

There are no more than a handful of brands that have defined sports style for generations, and right at the top of the list is Champion. If you take a moment and dig around the closet or dresser, we bet you'll be able to pull out a hoodie or a pair of sweats with that iconic logo stitched on. It’s only fitting that New York Fashion Week kicked off a legendary collaboration: House of Champion Powered by Sports Illustrated.
With a giant inflatable Champion hoodie cruising through the streets of New York on the back of a flatbed truck, buzz about the exclusive invite-only party built all weekend, culminating Thursday night, Sept. 11, with a packed event at Soho Lofts.
The House of Champion Powered by SI red carpet played host to a collection of influencers, celebs and VIPs that included SI swimsuit cover model Camille Kostek; UK model and football scion Romeo Beckham; Olympic gymnast and advocate Aly Raisman; DJ and content creator Xandra Pohl; model and influencer Nicole Williams English; model and fashion inclusivity advocate Remi Bader; lifestyle/fashion creator Ellie Thumann; rapper/actor Joey Bada$$; Empire and Kingdom Business star Serayah; social media personality Kate Cassidy; The Bachelor star Kelsey Anderson; Olympic gymnasts Evita Griskenas and Shilese Jones and many more.
In other words, the crowd at House of Champion represented the one-of-a-kind cross-section of sports, fashion, entertainment and social media personalities you only find at SI's events.
Sizzling hot DJ duo Sofi Tukker provided the soundtrack for the night, which saw guests circulate among curated displays that highlighted classic Champion designs going back to the company's founding in 1919. A Sports Illustrated photo booth gave attendees the opportunity to pose for their very own commemorative SI cover, while Champion's own customization station allowed guests' imagination and fashion instincts to run wild, designing their own unique hoodies. Sportswear mavens got their own sneak peek at the brand's new Champion x Target collection as well as regional designs from divisions based in Europe, Japan, Korea and Australia/New Zealand.
Events like House of Champion allow us to look both backward and forward, simultaneously surveying both the history and future of sports culture and fashion. Not every brand can deliver performance, comfort and timeless style in a single piece of sportswear. But events like this are a compelling reminder that a great brand can make anyone feel like a champion.
