High School Football Team Lends Sense of Normalcy after Fertilizer Plant Explosion

On April 17, there was a massive ammonium nitrate explosion at the West Fertilizer Company facility in West, Texas, a small town about 20 miles north of Waco with a population under 3,000. 15 people were killed, many more were injured, and buildings were destroyed. In the wake of the tragedy, sports have helped some in the town begin to return to normalcy. In the first installment of the second season of Underdogs, SI.com traveled to West to document a resilient Trojans team as a symbol of the community's aspirations to rebuild.
