Curt Schilling thinks he didn't get into the HOF because he's a Republican

Four people will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame this year. Curt Schilling isn't one of them. Why? If you ask Schilling it's because of his politics.

Schilling was on "The Dennis and Callahan Show" on Boston radio station WEEI on Tuesday discussing why he didn't get elected to the Hall but guys like John Smoltz did.

Curt Schilling debates evolution on Twitter for a solid four hours

Schilling pointed to Smoltz's legacy as a member of the Braves dynasty, his success as a starter and a closer, "and I think the other big thing is, I think he’s a Democrat, and so… I know that as a Republican that there’s some people that really don’t like that."

Oh, for sure, man. People didn't vote for you because you're a Republican. All the old white guys in the BBWAA are definitely not Republicans.

Schilling says he was just kidding, but he sounds pretty deadpan in the audio.

Also, John Smoltz is totally not a Democrat.
