Remember, Cleveland drafted Johnny Manziel because of a homeless man

A homeless man convinced the Browns to take Johnny Manziel

The Browns have cut Johnny Manziel from the roster which is not surprising given his recent troubles.  Now that the quarterback’s relationship with the team has ended it might be worth looking at its very odd beginnings

After the Browns selected the Texas A&M star with the 22nd pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, owner Jimmy Haslam revealed that he relied on some very untraditional scouting when deciding to take Johnny Football.

Following the pick, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reported that a homeless man inspired the Cleveland owner to select Manziel

Support for the quarterback stretched from the streets of Cleveland to the gilded halls of power, as presidential candidate Donald Trump also supported whoever took the troubled QB in 2014.

Hopefully some of Manziel’s fans can help him find a new spot on an NFL team.
