The Braves signed outfielder Marcell Ozuna this offseason to a one year contract. He’s coming off an injury plagued season in 2019 but still managed to knock out 29 home runs and 89 RBIs. Sports Illustrated’s fantasy baseball analyst Shawn Childs predicts a rebound in batting average for the Braves new outfielder. Ozuna is being drafted as the 97th overall player and 66th among hitters according to the latest Average Draft Position data.

Bill Enright: Can a move to the Atlanta Braves help Marcell Ozuna boost his stats in 2020? Let's find out what SI's fantasy baseball expert Shawn Childs has to say about the new Braves player. Sean, looking at Ozuna's ADP, he's going somewhere in the mid 90s for the overall player off the board. You like that draft price?

Shawn Childs: That's pretty attractive, considering he's going to have three great players hit in front of him in the lineup. You know, Ronald Acuna, Ozzie Albies and Freddy Freeman. So he's going to have a chance to knock oi a ton of runs, and over the last three seasons, he's come to the plate with a lot of guys on base. His power is increasing. He probably can hit well over 30 home runs if he plays a full season. His batting average is a little tricky, more like neutral. His contact batting average struggled last year, it slid back for the second straight year, but he did surprise with some steals. So he's a player that, especially in a shortened season, he could get off to a really, really hot start out of the gate with the Braves and make an impact. So he's the type of player you're always looking for to hit behind Freddie Freeman, a great player. So I'm kind of attracted to him, especially if he falls at that price point.
