Last time we saw Rory McIlory, he had the patrons in a frenzy at Augusta National as he punctuated a Sunday 64 by holing out from a greenside bunker. The good times continue in camp McIlroy where he enters the Wells Fargo as the defending champion, betting favorite and birthday boy. And with his recently announced extension with Taylormade, he's sure to have some spending money to celebrate his 33rd trip around the sun.

There was more news on the rival golf league front, as Lee Westwood joined Robert Garrigus and Phil Mickelson as players who submitted a request to play in the LIV Golf Opener outside London. After this recording, Sergio Garcia made his intentions clear as well in a moment of frustration. And don't forget about the Premier Golf League, which sent a letter to PGA Tour players this week.

One player who likely did not receive one of those aforementioned letters is PGA Tour hopeful, Ryan McCormick. He three-putted his way out of the Wells Fargo Monday qualifier in rather unspectacular fashion. Which brings us to a player that is in the field at TPC Potomac, Brandon Matthews, perhaps the longest player in professional golf. He'll compete on a sponsors exemption and will do so with a 231-yard 5-iron in his arsenal.

All of that and a little more, packed into this Friday's edition of Up and Down. Hit the play button above to watch.
