HOT SPRINGS – It is a long trip home for Marked Tree from Bank OZK Arena, but it will at least be much more enjoyable this time around.

After falling on a buzzer-beating layup to County Line in last year's 1A final, the Indians (35-3) routed Nevada (30-8) 66-43 on Saturday afternoon to claim the program's first state championship since 2001.

Excluding tipoff and a gritty third quarter, the Blue Jays struggled to match scoring with the Indians, who finished 53% from the field and 43% from three-point range. They also dominated under the basket with 34 points in the paint.

1A state tournament MVP Ladarrius Brown finished with a game-high 20 points, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, plus 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Ken Carter and Jonah Walker each added 10 points for Marked Tree. Brycten Harris and Kevin Coleman each led Nevada with 14 points.
