Highland Springs 2026 Football schedule Loaded with Intrigue, Highlighted by Revenge Game at Varina

Highland Springs has released its 2026 football schedule, giving fans an early look at a season that features several intriguing matchups and a few games that will stand out right away.
A Strong Start to the Fall
As one of Virginia’s most consistent high school football programs, Highland Springs enters every season with high expectations.
This year’s schedule includes a strong mix of rivalry-type games, respected opponents and opportunities for the Springers to measure themselves throughout the fall.
Among the most notable games on the slate are matchups against Huguenot, Dinwiddie, Phoebus, Friendship Collegiate and Varina.
The season begins in Week 0 with a road game at Hopewell on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. That opener should give Highland Springs an immediate test before the Springers return home the following week.
Early Games That Will Draw Attention
In Week 1, Highland Springs hosts Hugenot with 4 star- WR Iveon Lewis and 3 stars- S Zayvon Miller, WR Jhamari Caine, QB Charles Scott on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.
Early-season home games always carry importance. This one serves as a serious measuring stick and gives the Springers a chance to settle in at home while building momentum.
One of the more interesting games on the schedule comes in Week 2, when Highland Springs travels to Dinwiddie on Friday, Sept. 11.
Dinwiddie defeated Highland Springs in overtime last season, which naturally adds another layer to this year’s meeting.
It is the kind of game that should draw attention because of the recent history between the two programs.
After hosting South County on Thursday, Sept. 17, Highland Springs returns home in Week 4 for Homecoming against L.C. Bird on Friday, Sept. 25.
L.C Bird touts a strong line with 3- star OT Isaiah Whitehead and #1 player in the state of Virginia 4-star Edge Chris Whitehead.
Midseason Spotlight Games
The following week brings another important home date, as the Springers host Phoebus on Friday, Oct. 2 for Wall of Fame Night.
Phoebus remains one of the more recognizable programs on the schedule, making that matchup one many will have circled.
Highland Springs then has a bye week on Oct. 9 before facing Friendship Collegiate in Week 7.
The time and location for that game are still to be determined, but it remains one of the more notable matchups on the slate.
A Key Stretch Toward the Finish
Later in the season, Highland Springs hosts Hermitage on Oct. 23 before traveling to 2025 Class 4 State Champion Varina on Oct. 30.
That Varina matchup will likely be one of the biggest games of the regular season, especially after Varina earned a 21-3 win over Highland Springs last year.
With that result still fresh, this year’s meeting should carry added interest.
The Springers close the regular season on Nov. 6 with Senior Night against Hanover.
Final Outlook
Overall, the 2026 schedule gives Highland Springs a solid mix of tradition, strong competition and meaningful late-season games.
From early tests to key matchups in the middle and back half of the year, the Springers will have plenty of opportunities to define their season.
