Washington (WIAA) 2B high school boys basketball state tournament: 2024 predictions, top players

Columbia of Burbank leads a trio of undefeated teams vying for the championship.

After four grueling days of basketball at the Spokane Arena this week, somebody will be dancing with the big WIAA gold ball Saturday night.

Three unbeaten teams -- top-seeded Columbia of Burbank, No. 2 Napavine and No. 3 Colfax -- lead the contenders.

Here are SBLive WA's teams and players to watch, and round-by-round predictions - complete with a championship-game pick.

G1: No. 14 Tonasket (15-10) vs. No. 6 Toutle Lake (16-7), 3:45 p.m. (Winner plays No. 4 Lake Roosevelt at 3:45 p.m. Thursday)

G2: No. 10 Adna (19-7) vs. No. 7 St. George's (19-7), 5:30 p.m. (Winner plays No. 1 Columbia of Burbank at 5:30 p.m. Thursday)

FAVORITE: Columbia of Burbank

The Coyotes, who were third a year, have rolled through the competition this season. But they're not the only unbeaten contender as Colfax and Napavine also have spotless records.

It's almost 1A and 1B with Scott and Frimodt, with the former winning the EWAC East player of the year. The versatile combo has led the Coyotes to a 49-2 record the past two years and has the program poised to win back-to-back trophies for the first time.
