Angels News: Expert Advises Halos to Contact Struggling AL Squad for Trades

Maybe LA should listen!

Your Los Angeles Angels have been very busy the past couple of days as they did not wait for the 2023 MLB trade deadline to get closer for them to start making some big moves to bolster their roster. A number of injuries to some of their most important infielders meant they had no time to waste and they dealt some of their top pitching prospects in exchange for veterans Eduardo Escobar and Mike Moustakas.

This was definitely the right mindset for the Halos to take on and the question now is: Will they stop here? They are in the midst of one of their best stretches of baseball over the past couple of years and it was highlighted in their Saturday 25-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. To put it bluntly, this might be the last year they have one of the greatest baseball players ever in Shohei Ohtani wearing their uniform.

No matter what the franchise has gone through in the past, if you have him and Mike Trout in your lineup, you have a fighting chance to win every game you play. Therefore, even though LA's depth has been better than ever in 2023, there are still moves they can make to get even better.

And MLB's Will Leitch believes the Halos should be doing everything they can to get some deals done with the Chicago White Sox.

"Lucas Giolito is the pitcher everyone will want, but Lance Lynn could serve the Angels just as well, particularly now that he has that 16-strikeout game under his belt. They’re also an ideal team to take a chance on Mike Clevinger, as long as he’s able to return quickly from his IL stint for right biceps inflammation. This assumes the White Sox can’t crawl back in the AL Central race. (While the Halos are at it, they should cheer for the Cardinals not to make their way back in the NL Central either. Jack Flaherty would kind of be a perfect fit here.)"
