Angels News: Rookie Nolan Schanuel Takes a Painful Path to Continue Record Start to Career

There hasn’t been a ton that has gone the way of the Angels this season, as they will miss the postseason once again. It has been a tough year all around for the organization, and this offseason will likely only yield more frustration for them as well.

However, rookie Nolan Schanuel has been one of the lone bright spots for the Angels this season after he joined the roster last month. The 21-year-old first baseman extended his on-base streak to 27 games on Monday, which is incredibly impressive for a rookie.

It’s even more impressive considering that the Angels drafted him just this year, and he is already making an impact at the big-league level. For the season, he has now appeared in 27 games, meaning that he has gotten on base in every game in his career.

He is hitting .284 with one home run and five runs batted in. His emergence for the Angels has been huge, and it should bode well for the team moving forward.

During the game on Monday, Schanuel fouled a ball off his knee and looked to be in some pain. He left the game shortly after and will be reevaluated going forward to make sure nothing serious occurred.
