Braves Briefing: Best Rivalry in the NL East?

Here's a look around MLB from an Atlanta Braves perspective.

The Atlanta Braves got the sweep against the Miami Marlins after a 6-3 Thursday afternoon win.

The Braves now have a six-game lead in the NL East over both the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins.

Best rivalry in the NL East?

This should not surprise anyone that reads content from an Atlanta Braves website but MLB.com posted a blurb about the best rivalry in every division. They named the Braves/Mets matchup as the best rivalry in the division.

Here's some of what they wrote.

All right, so this isn’t exactly a new rivalry. Chipper Jones does have a son named Shea, after all. But, with apologies to the Phillies (who, uh, did make the World Series last year), these two teams look loaded and ready to lock horns for the next half-decade.

Braves Today's Matthew Jacobs handled our coverage of the Thursday action. He highlighted Marcell Ozuna's impressive start to the month of May.

Ozuna was a shark feasting on the Fish in this series as he just brutalized Marlins pitching for six hits, three of which were long balls that were absolutely torched (including a grand slam) for a total of 6 RBIs. He only struck out twice as he made contact in every other at-bat of the series. He might shoot for the stars and approach the Mendoza line.

Here's the full version of our takeaways.
