Lineup, how to watch Atlanta's series opener with the Texas Rangers

Atlanta hopes to break the four-game losing streak with veteran Charlie Morton on the bump

The Braves are reeling, y'all.

Losers of four straight and swept for just the 2nd time all season, Atlanta is happy to leave Toronto and its swirling winds behind.

But it doesn't get any easier heading to Arlington - yes, you avoid the injured Jacob DeGrom, but this is still a 1st place Rangers team that's 12-6 at home and 7-3 in their last ten games. Atlanta's bats need to show up early and often so that veteran Charlie Morton has a little runway to eat some innings - the bullpen's thrown a lot in the last few days, especially with yesterday's bullpen game.

Atlanta Braves Lineup for Monday, May 15th

Here's how the Braves will line up for the contest:

Atlanta keeps Sunday's adjustment to the top of the order intact, with Ozzie Albies batting 3rd and Austin Riley in cleanup. Sean Murphy re-enters the line, batting 5th, while Kevin Pillar gets his 2nd straight start in left field over Eddie Rosario, batting 7th. Marcell Ozuna, who is having himself a MAY, bats 6th and is the designated hitter.

Atlanta Braves vs Texas Rangers Pitching Matchup

Atlanta's sending veteran Charlie Morton to the bump. He's 4-3 in his seven starts on the season, with a 3.32 ERA and 39 strikeouts in his 40.2 innings. He's 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA in six career starts against Texas, but he's not faced them since joining the Braves for the 2021 season. Four current Rangers have faced Morton, with only veteran Marcus Semien (.353 average) having more than one hit against "Uncle Charlie".

Opposing Morton is lefty Cody Bradford. The 2019 draftee out of Baylor is making his MLB debut tonight - on the season in AAA with the Round Rock Express, he's 5-1 with a 0.91 ERA in seven starts. He's struck out 37 batters in 39.2 innings, and is the #26-rated Rangers prospect by MLB Pipeline
