Brewers' 'Air Lara' Saves Another Game With Acrobatic Heroics

In this story:
The Milwaukee Brewers are on a hot streak, winning six of their last seven games, including stealing two from the Atlanta Braves this weekend.
Milwaukee opened up its series with Atlanta with a star-studded duel of the aces, pitting sophomore flamethrower Jacob Misiorowski against former National League Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale. Despite allowing only two runs in six innings, Sale was outmatched by Misiorowski, who threw six scoreless innings and fanned six batters.
Misiorowski earned his 13th win of the year and lowered his already league-best ERA to 1.68 after his performance against the Braves on Friday, though he seemed slightly fatigued on the mound. The 24-year-old hurler played a big role in Milwaukee pulling off the 2-1 win, but rookie outfielder Luis Lara stole the show with a leaping catch in the sixth inning, which wound up saving a run, as Michael Harris II recorded a double in the next at-bat.
Lara's defense shines once again

In such a tight match against another top team in the league, Lara's catch made all the difference, keeping the Braves from getting on the board early and helping secure the Brewers' win. This isn't the first time the 21-year-old has made an acrobatic catch to save a game, even though he's played only 35 big-league games with the Brewers.
Lara has been solid at the plate through 35 games, slashing .245/.322/.353 with a home run while driving in 15 runs, but he's been an excellent defensive outfielder. While playing against the Minnesota Twins two weeks ago, Lara made two spectacular jumping grabs at the wall to keep the Brewers in a game the team would win 4-3 in extra innings.
The 21-year-old's outfield heroics have not gone unnoticed, as teammate Misiorowski gave him the nickname "Air Lara." Milwaukee highly values Lara's impressive glove, handing the young outfielder a seven-year, $31 million contract extension before he ever set foot in the big leagues. He boasts elite range and a fearless attitude, showcasing his willingness to make acrobatic plays like the one on Friday.
Lara has been in the majors for a little over a month, yet he has already made several game-saving, highlight-reel-worthy catches, proving his worth. His defensive versatility can not only make an impact for the Brewers this season as the team eyes a deep playoff run, but it can also be a big part of the team's future.
