Chicago Cubs' Stars Nearing Return From Injuries

In this story:
The Chicago Cubs got a much needed victory over the Colorado Rockies in their first game of the weekend home series.
After starting the day outside of the playoffs, the Cubs are now holding the final National League Wild Card spot entering Saturday and are one game clear of the Miami Marlins.
Chicago got a huge boost to their pitching staff when Marcus Stroman returned from the injured list and came out of the bullpen. Their former ace is now set to be the starter on Saturday.
Now, it looks like the Cubs are nearing getting two other of their stars back in the mix as they near a return from injury.
Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports that closer Adbert Alzolay will play catch on Saturday after his Friday bullpen session went well and that utilityman Jeimer Candelario is continuing baseball activities.
Alzolay was placed on the 15-day injured list Sept. 10 with a right forearm strain. He's been a huge part of Chicago's bullpen this season and his absence is a big reason why the relief staff has struggled late in the year.
The closer is eligible to return after Sept. 25. Whether or not he'll be healthy enough to return to action this season is unknown as of now, but it looks like he's nearing a comeback to the Cubs.
Candelario was placed on the 10-day IL on Sept. 12 with a back strain. He's been a versatile piece for manager David Ross after he was acquired at the trade deadline.
He's played both first and third base for Chicago and is hitting .237/.324/.449 with five home runs and 16 RBI in his 36 games with the club.
Getting both of these players back healthy and on the roster is important for the Cubs as they continue their final push for the postseason.
