As the Dodgers head in to game number 10 of the 2023 season, the reviews are a little mixed. The club is 5-4 including a 3-3 record against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The offense has been powerful (we'll say) but inconsistent. The pitching had been mostly solid in the starting rotation (before a pair of recent stinkers) and mostly bad in the bullpen.

Looking up and down the roster, it's easy to identify some areas that can be improved upon and some of those guys might already be on the roster. Albeit, the injured list.

Doug McKain at DodgersNation.com put together a comprehensive update on every key player currently on the IL in a recent edition of "Dodgers Dougout."

Check that out here.

Here are some quick written updates.

RHP Daniel Hudson is the guy closest to returning and making an impact. He's currently working out at Camelback Ranch and struggling with his knee not bouncing back a day after throwing off the mound. Target: End of April/Early May

RHP Jimmy Nelson would be on the active roster and in the bullpen if he could throw strikes. He's been working through velocity and command issues and is a candidate to be released if he can't figure things out. As it stands, he's technically healthy and an option to join the roster at any time in an emergency.

RHP Tony Gonsolin is mostly recovered from an ankle sprain suffered during the second full week of spring training. He's back throwing and is now just working to build back up before re-joining the starting rotation. Target: End of April/Early May

RHP Ryan Pepiot is shut down at the moment as he recovers from an oblique strain. Target: Mid-May

RHPs Alex Reyes and J.P. Feyereisen are down the road options for the Dodgers. Both are coming off shoulder operations. Targets: Reyes June/July; Feyereisen August/September

And The Rest

Gavin Lux is out for the year following ACL surgery. Blake Treinen and Walker Buehler are not expected to return this season but could shock people by September.
